Newlywed Life

On September 22, 2012, I stood before about 130 of my closest friends and family and said, "I do" to Jason Morales. Not only is he my best friend, but he's everything I've ever hoped and prayed for in a husband. God has certainly blessed me way beyond my limited understanding and wildest dreams.
Our "First Look". The blue bandanna is from the night Jason asked me to be his girlfriend
AND the night he asked me to be his wife.

We like to be silly!

And we like to laugh. This is us right after they let us kiss :)
MUAH!

Our awesome wedding party.

My favorite photo of my emotions from our wedding day.

Much of what I write about on my blog will include Jason and our little newlywed life together. I am a girl who always wanted to be married. There are points in my life where I look back and think that I would have married just about anyone who would have married me - but God had to seriously guard my heart from that. After I became a believer in 2009, I began praying for specific things that I sought after in a husband. Randomly and  very sovereignly, God led Jason and I to each other.

My hope and sincere prayer is that through my marriage-based blog posts, some reader will be able to identify with me, learn something new, and/or just grow in their own marriage and relationship with Christ.

I seek to view marriage from a perspective that is both practical and biblical. Being a recovering marriage idealist (read On Marriage Part One & Party Two), I always appreciated when someone would give me some practical marriage advice. I like it when people are real with me, transparent with me, but also hold their husband and marriage in such high esteem that they don't dishonor either by sharing with me. That is my aim. That is my goal.

This is not a "marriage" blog. It's my blog. It's my grown-up scrapbook. So of course I will write about marriage and life as a newlywed. If I didn't, I literally would have something to write about maybe 3 times a month. My marriage and my husband are at the forefront of my mind constantly. We're new and we're learning to navigate through this new stage of life. I invite you to join me in this journey.

And what would a journey be if there was no community? So, always remember to BLOGBACKTOME :)
